FAMILY CAREGIVERS
Meets on the 3rd Thursday of every month at 7-8 PM in the Clubhouse
The Family Caregivers is part of the SERT Neighbor-Helping-Neighbor (NHN) program which brings neighbors together to support each other. In OHCC, many of our residents find themselves caring for a loved one or being cared for by a loved one. Residents saw a need to start a support group to share ideas and resources and get the ball rolling.
The Family Caregivers meet on the third Thursday from 7-8 PM at the Clubhouse in a friendly and safe environment where you can relax and share your personal stories and frustrations, the challenges and struggles we face providing care for our loved ones and learning from each other. If you are caring for a loved one, please join us. You are not alone.
Come and check out our resource box. We have acquired a lot of information to ensure that you navigate this journey knowing help is available.
If you are taking care of a parent, partner or other loved one, our group is here for you. The more educated and prepared you are, the better your caregiver skills are.
To join the Family Caregivers, just show up. We will have a SERT Club membership form waiting for you. You can contact us by emailing fc.ohccsert@gmail.com
Membership dues are $12, per person per year payable to “OHCC SERT Club” by check. Just drop off your membership form and check at the Clubhouse Front Desk. As a part of the SERT Club, members have access to a personal FREE Home Safety Survey by our Emergency Response Team (ERT). Family Caregivers may not be aware of all the utility shutoff locations and can receive ERT recommendations that will help them in an emergency incident.
