Club Committees

Working with the committee chairperson, the committee function is to:

organize three safety related presentations for all OHCC residents
select presentation topics by soliciting ideas from various SERT Club members and others
develop presentations by collaborating with the Director of Safety & Education and/or coordinating with outside presenters and/or vendors
arrange presentation dates with the Clubhouse Staff and AV Committee Chairperson
develop and maintain SERT Club and Emergency Response Team (ERT) training materials
collaborate with the Safety Committee and the First Aid Team to develop presentation content
maintain training attendance and compliance records

This committee reports to the Director of Safety & Education

Working with the committee chairperson, the committee function is to:

maintain and expand the Club membership
organize Do Dues Day activities and staff Club table
collect dues and donations
work with database manager to maintain the Club’s membership database
conduct new member orientation meetings
review new member committee and/or Emergency Response Team (ERT) functions interest list and forward information to applicable committee chairperson

This committee reports to the Club Vice President

focus on identifying what types of services may be needed to assist the OHCC residents during daily living as well as to help alleviate the impact of disasters in OHCC
create a plan reaching out to the OHCC community to ensure that all residents are aware of NHN Safety Coordinator and the assistance that NHN can provide
ensure that trained Safety Coordinator volunteers are always available for continuity of the NHN programs
publicize program successes and share those with the OHCC community for celebration and honoring volunteers

This committee reports to the Director Neighbor-Helping-Neighbor

Working with the committee chairperson, the committee function is to:

foster a cohesive community by organizing interesting events for the entire community so neighbors can meet and socialize with each other
to keep interested residents up to date and informed on how to be prepared for a disaster during the first 72 hours, we may be the only source of communication and support to our neighbors and community
to assist with greeting and recruitment of new members when Preparedness Information Sessions are held within the OHCC community and sponsored by OHCC SERT Club
to assist with greeting and recruitment of new members to OHCC SERT Club, to answer any questions or concerns residents may have and just smile and share the importance of the SERT Club to the OHCC community
